Job summary

Mastercard Inc. is seeking a Platform Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in St. Louis, MO. You will gain hands-on experience with enterprise platform architecture, cloud concepts, and infrastructure design within a collaborative global team.

You'll learn to map dependencies, create architecture diagrams in Visio, and work on high-availability, bare-metal to modern platform transitions that power payment processing systems.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with anticipated graduation between Dec 2027 and Jun 2028.
• Foundational knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Understanding of HA, capacity planning, scalability, and micro-segmentation.

Responsibilities

• Design platform architectures and create Visio diagrams for complex applications.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, networking, security, and operations teams.
• Support the Decision Management Program (DMP) infrastructure and platform modernization.
• Document architectures and maintain up-to-date Visio diagrams.
