Job summary

Blooming Health is seeking a deeply technical Principal Software Engineer to own and modernize the platform. You will lead a platform team, work on AI-driven agentic SDLC, and ensure security, compliance, and scale on Google Cloud.

The role is fully remote in the US, with a preference for EST or CST. You will influence architecture, mentor engineers, and drive cross-team collaboration for a high-impact digital health platform.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering, Staff level or equivalent, leading architecture and tech direction across teams.
• Proven experience designing, building, and operating scalable distributed systems and microservices.
• Hands-on Google Cloud production experience (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, IAM, VPC, BigQuery).
• Proficient in Python production-grade skills; comfortable with Go services.
• Experience delivering AI-assisted production software with agents and multi-agent orchestration.
• Worked in healthcare or regulated environments handling PHI/PII with HIPAA awareness.
• Strong engineering excellence: design reviews, testing strategy, CI/CD, observability, IaC.
• Ownership mentality with startup-style action and outcomes.
• Strong technical writing, trade-offs, and mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Own the platform technical debt roadmap end-to-end, including prioritization, sequencing, design, delivery, and measurable outcomes.
• Lead the convergence of platform generations into a cohesive, well-architected system with incremental migrations.
• Build and operate an AI-native engineering workflow using multi-agent orchestration and code-intelligence.
• Define architecture for GCP-based services (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, Redis, BigQuery) with scalable, secure design.
• Improve reliability, observability, and SLOs; strengthen IaC, CI/CD, and rollback practices.
• Embed security and privacy by design, ensuring HIPAA and related compliance considerations.
• Mentor engineers, elevate coding standards, and promote agentic engineering across the org.
