Job summary
Apple Inc. in Sunnyvale, California, is seeking a Platform Software Engineer for AI & Data Platforms (AiDP) to own the automation layer for PostgreSQL-based services powering Services, Manufacturing, AIML, and more.
You will design API-driven microservices, improve observability, and integrate AI/ML capabilities into configuration and scheduling. The role emphasizes reliability, scale, and collaboration across teams.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- Experience building highly available software services or platform infrastructure.
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining API-driven microservices.
- Proficient in Python; Java/Kotlin/C/C++ optional.
- Bachelor's in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience.
Responsibilities
- Automation Development: design and build tools to streamline database management tasks and performance tuning, including AI/ML enhancements.
- API-Driven Services: design, build, and maintain secure, versioned microservices exposing database lifecycle operations as APIs.
- CI/CD: integrate database automation into pipelines with automated testing, canary rollouts, and rollbacks.
- Monitoring and Alerting: develop and enhance monitoring and health checks, with self-healing capabilities.
