Job summary

Apple is seeking a software engineer to develop and operate its relational database platform that powers critical services. You will build automation for provisioning, scaling, patching, and decommissioning PostgreSQL clusters, with deep observability and robust alerting to support millions of users.

You’ll work on API-driven microservices and emerging AI/ML tooling, collaborating across teams in IS&T to scale reliability, performance, and automation across Apple’s services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Experience building highly available software services or platform infrastructure.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining API-driven microservices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Apple’s PostgreSQL-based data platform; provisioning, scaling, patching, and decommissioning services.
• Build secure, API-driven microservices with strong observability and alerting.
• Collaborate with AI/ML tooling teams to integrate generative AI workflows into production services.
