Job summary

Torrey Holistics in Houston, TX seeks a senior Maintenance Technician to sustain peak uptime on plastic fabrication equipment. You will collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to maximize equipment uptime, develop PM procedures, and lead repairs on injection molding machines, granulators, dryers, and the chiller.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of industrial maintenance experience, strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repair skills, and the ability to read schematics and troubleshoot

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 7+ years maintaining industrial equipment, including injection molding machines.
  • Experience with blow molding or extrusion equipment may substitute for injection molding experience.
  • Hands-on industrial mechanical repair: hydraulics, motors, pumps, and related systems.
  • Strong electrical aptitude with the ability to read schematics and troubleshoot complex wiring.
  • Proven ability to diagnose issues and deliver timely, budget-conscious repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to sustain high uptime and optimal utilization across the plant.
  • Build, document, and continually improve preventive maintenance procedures for all capital assets, including injection molding machines, granulators, dryers, the water tower, and the chiller.
  • Develop equipment specifications and recommend auxiliary or other capital purchases to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair facility and production equipment—mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic.
  • Operate mobile equipment such as skid loaders, scissor lifts, and forklifts as needed to complete work safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain complete records: PM schedules, equipment installations, structural repairs, work orders, and other operating reports.
  • Manage the maintenance budget by tracking inventory and expenses, and by executing cost-effective repairs.
  • Remain on call 24/7 to resolve maintenance issues that could impact on-time customer delivery.
  • Calibrate injection machine controls and verify screws and barrels meet minimum specifications.
  • Provide technical support across facility systems, including electrical distribution, building construction elements, and plumbing.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and sustain a clean, organized work area.
  • Uphold safe, orderly grounds and strong 5S housekeeping practices.
  • Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
