Job description

Industrial Maintenance Mechanic — Plastics Molding

Pay: $26.63–$39.94/hourSchedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 3:30 PM–11:30 PMTraining: About one month on 1st shift (varies by experience)

A day on second shift

You arrive just before 3:30 PM, hand off with first shift, and prioritize what keeps production moving. Most of your evening (about 80%) is spent on manufacturing maintenance for injection molding and related equipment, while the balance (around 20%) goes to facilities tasks that keep the building reliable and safe. You dig into mechanical troubleshooting first—hydraulics, motors, servo drives, sensors, relays, and auxiliary systems—then pivot to preventive maintenance to head off tomorrow’s problems. When electrical issues pop up, you safely trace fundamentals from 240V to 480V. You’ll also spot-check thermolators, drying and material systems, and lend support to automated assembly and packaging lines. When the facility needs attention, you handle basic plumbing, light electrical, carpentry, and general building repairs. Through it all, you lock out/tag out and follow established safety procedures.

What you’ll handle
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain injection molding machines and related manufacturing equipment.
  • Execute mechanical repairs on hydraulics, motors, servo drives, sensors, relays, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Service thermolators, material handling systems, drying systems, and other molding support assets.
  • Complete scheduled preventive maintenance to maximize uptime and equipment life.
  • Diagnose basic electrical issues on systems operating at 240V–480V.
  • Perform basic PLC troubleshooting on Allen-Bradley, FANUC, and similar platforms (no programming from scratch required).
  • Support automated assembly and packaging equipment as needed.
  • Handle facilities maintenance: basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building repairs.
  • Consistently follow LOTO and established safety procedures.
What sets you up for success
  • High school diploma or GED; technical/trade education preferred.
  • Around 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
  • Strongly preferred: experience with injection molding, blow molding, or comparable molding equipment.
  • Proven mechanical troubleshooting skills across hydraulics and industrial machinery.
  • Working knowledge of motors, relays, sensors, and electrical controls for basic electrical diagnostics.
  • Comfort operating safely around 240V–480V equipment.
  • PLC troubleshooting experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and seek support when needed.
  • Comfortable splitting time between production equipment maintenance and general facility work.
How you’ll get started

You’ll begin on first shift for roughly a month of onboarding (timing depends on experience). After that, you’ll run largely independent on second shift, keeping equipment reliable and production flowing smoothly.
