Join Our Maintenance Team

We are looking for an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team. This position plays a critical role in keeping our injection molding equipment, production systems, and facility infrastructure operating safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate is a multi-craft maintenance professional with strong troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience with injection molding equipment. You should enjoy diagnosing problems, identifying root causes, and making reliable repairs, not simply replacing parts.

Who We Are

EI Plastic Molding has been proudly serving customers since 1963. We're a certified Great Place to Work and a 100% employee-owned custom injection molding manufacturer focused on delivering high-quality products and exceptional results for our customers. We take pride in the work we do, the solutions we provide, and the relationships we build.

Since 2006, our employees have held full ownership of the company, creating a culture where everyone has a direct stake in our success and where we grow stronger together.

We invest in our people, value a safe and supportive workplace, and believe strong employees build a strong company. As an employee-owned business, our employees have a direct stake in our success, and the work they do matters.

What You'll Do
  • Perform hands‑on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on injection molding machines and related production equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues on injection molding presses, including clamp, injection, and ejector systems.
  • Troubleshoot PLC‑controlled equipment and automated systems by reviewing diagnostic screens, fault codes, PLC inputs/outputs, sensors, switches, and other control components.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain Cartesian robots, collaborative robots, end‑of‑arm tooling, and other automated equipment.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot hot runner systems, temperature controllers, mold temperature control units, pumps, valves, chillers, and water systems.
  • Troubleshoot facility systems including rotary screw air compressors, dryers, compressed‑air distribution, and basic HVAC systems.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including 3‑phase power, motor controls, VFDs, and low‑voltage control circuits.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic valves, cylinders, fittings, and related components.
  • Perform general facility maintenance, including minor plumbing, lighting, doors, and building repairs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance according to established schedules and identify opportunities to improve PM effectiveness.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and other maintenance equipment.
  • Operate manual mills and lathes to fabricate or modify components for general repairs.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Complete work orders, PM documentation, and parts usage records accurately.
  • Respond to production downtime and prioritize repairs based on safety, production needs, and business impact.
What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in plastics/injection molding manufacturing. Journeyman industrial maintenance or comparable technical certification preferred.
  • Strong multi‑craft maintenance background with experience across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis skills.
  • Working knowledge of preventive maintenance programs.
  • Ability to work safely with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain required safety and equipment certifications.
  • Hands‑on experience troubleshooting injection molding machinery.
Why Join Us?
  • Employee-Owned Company: Share in the success you create through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
  • Culture of Growth: We encourage employees to adapt, overcome, thrive, and own it.
  • Career Development: Opportunities to expand your skills and grow your career.
  • Collaborative Environment: Work alongside team members who value quality, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Stable, Growing Manufacturer: Be part of a company with over 60 years of success.
  • Success Sharing: Participate in our success-sharing program (profit sharing) when we succeed together.
  • Comprehensive Benefits Package: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, paid holidays, life insurance, short term and long-term disability, and more.
Why This Role Matters

Our Industrial Maintenance Technicians are essential to maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient production. You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of injection molding equipment and supporting systems while playing a direct role in minimizing downtime and improving equipment reliability.

If you're a hands‑on maintenance professional who enjoys solving problems and wants a role where your technical expertise makes a measurable difference, we'd like to hear from you.
