Job summary

Airlite Plastics is seeking a Machine Operator to set up and start machinery, ensuring efficient operation and quality output. You will troubleshoot to maintain continuous flow and coordinate with the quality team to address any defects.

You will perform routine maintenance, adhere to safety guidelines, and document production logs while supporting team efforts to improve processes and reduce waste.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Adjust and operate machines following SOPs and safety guidelines.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery including cleaning and lubrication.
  • Read and interpret diagrams and work instructions.
  • Perform quality inspections and document product quality.
  • Maintain production and quality logs.
  • Report safety concerns to management and coordinate with Shift Manager.

How do you fit in?

The Machine Operator will be responsible for the set-up and start-up of machinery and equipment. In addition, this role will ensure machines are running efficiently to produce quality products. The Machine Operator will also perform troubleshooting to ensure an uninterrupted flow of products.

Do you have what it takes?
  • Adjust, and operate machines, following standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.
  • Utilize problem solving skills to minimize downtime.
  • Read and interpret diagrams and other work instructions.
  • Perform quality inspections and document product quality to assure product is within specifications.
  • Communicate with Quality and/ or Shift Manager regarding questionable products and make timely adjustments.
  • Monitor cycle times to the required standards.
  • Work with team members and Shift Manager to improve production processes, increase efficiency, and reduce waste.
  • Maintain accurate records of production output, quality checks, and machine settings. Complete daily production and quality logs.
  • Adhere to safety policies and regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the work area and equipment.
  • Adhere to company policy and attendance standards.
  • Report food safety concerns to management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Understanding of plastic materials, machine operations, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with basic quality control procedures.
  • High level of precision in monitoring machine performance and inspecting products for defects.
  • Ability to work well within a team, build partnerships and support team members and effectively communicate any issues to supervisors and team members.
