Job summary

Airlite Plastics is seeking a Warehouse Operator for its Statesville, NC site. The role involves receiving, storing, loading, and distributing materials, operating forklift equipment, and ensuring safe, accurate order processing.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving, storing, loading, and distributing materials and manufactured products.
  • Operate forklift and power lifting equipment as needed to move items to staging or storage areas.
  • Inspect power equipment before operating and report unsafe conditions to Supervisor.
  • Inspect orders for accuracy and quality; process paperwork to close out orders.
  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Operate computers and scanners to record product movement.
  • Ensure proper labeling on boxes, bundles and labels.
  • Visually inspect products for quality; advise Supervisor if defective and replace/repack as needed.
  • Record daily shift activities by the number of touches.
  • Inspect trailers before loading to ensure wheels are chocked; keep doors secure during loading.

How would you contribute?

This role is a contributing member of our Kodiakooler team , located in Statesville, North Carolina . As a Warehouse Operator, you are a key to the continued growth and success of Airlite. This role is responsible for r eceiving, storing, loading, and distributing materials and manufactured products.

  • Able to perform all duties of an Production Associate.
  • Operate forklift and power lifting equipment as needed to remove skids and product to staging or storage areas.
  • Inspect the power equipment before operating and record the findings according to safety standards. Maintain safe operation of the equipment. Report non-working or unsafe conditions to Supervisor.
  • Inspect orders to be loaded for accuracy and quality of product. Process necessary paperwork to closeout orders.
  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Operate computers and scanners to record product being stored, moved or shipped.
  • Ensures proper marking is on boxes, bundles and labels.
  • Ensure quality by visually inspecting products produced before storing or shipping. If products are defective or damaged, advise the Supervisor immediately. May need to replace and repack damaged product.
  • Record daily shift activities, both internal and external, by the number of “Touches” performed per shift.
  • Inspect trailers prior to loading or off-loading, to ensure that the rear wheels of the trailer are chocked. All trailers backed into a door must be chocked until load is picked up.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hand dexterity to operate office equipment including computer keyboards; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 65 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The temperature level in the work environment is hot during late spring, summer and early fall seasons.
