Interactive Resources - iR in California is seeking a motivated Business Development Manager to grow new business in plastics and rigid packaging. This hunter role focuses on opening doors, building relationships, and converting prospects into long-term customers.

You will develop and manage a pipeline, understand customer packaging needs, coordinate with internal teams, and drive revenue growth while meeting targets.

Qualifications

• Proven business development or sales experience within plastics, rigid packaging, or packaging manufacturing.
• Experience selling plastic bottles, caps, closures, or similar rigid packaging products.
• Strong track record of new business development and prospecting.
• Hunter mentality with ability to create opportunities rather than rely on inbound leads.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the plastics and rigid packaging market.
• Prospect, cold call, network, and build relationships with new customers.
• Sell rigid plastic packaging solutions, including bottles, caps, closures, and related packaging components.
• Develop and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities from initial contact through close.
• Work with customers to understand their packaging needs and identify the right solutions.
• Build relationships with key decision makers across purchasing, engineering, operations, and other functions.
• Prepare proposals, pricing, presentations, and customer meetings.
• Partner with internal teams to ensure a smooth transition from new business development through production.
• Track market trends, competitors, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth.
• Meet and exceed new business and revenue targets.
