Job summary

Aerotek is hiring for a Production & Machine Operator role in Richmond, IN. This permanent, on-site position involves operating and setting up plastic extrusion machinery, loading raw materials with a stand-up forklift, and maintaining precise production records.

You’ll monitor machine performance, perform quality checks, and adjust settings to ensure specifications are met. Multiple shifts and a safety-focused manufacturing environment support your growth.

Qualifications

• Experience operating plastic extrusion machinery.
• Ability to read blueprints and measurement data.
• Proficiency with gauges, calipers, micrometers for quality checks.
• Able to lift and load rolls with a stand-up forklift.

Responsibilities

• Load rolls of raw plastic into extrusion machinery using a stand-up forklift.
• Assist with start-up and shutdown procedures for safe operations.
• Support changeovers and material changes per guidelines.
• Set up extrusion machinery according to specs and work instructions.
• Monitor performance and report issues promptly.
• Make adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Conduct regular quality checks and record results.
• Read blueprints and measurement data for setup accuracy.
• Document production data, downtime, and quality results.
• Troubleshoot basic issues and assist maintenance as directed.
• Keep area clean and organized; follow safety SOPs.
