Job summary

CSL is seeking a healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures, provide limited emergency medical care, and conduct medical history interviews to determine donor eligibility. The role supports donor health and safety while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

In collaboration with the Center Medical Director, you will review test results, counsel donors on reactive findings, and refer for follow-up as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be graduated from paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also currently be licensed as a physician or state certification as an EMT.
• For NY: current state licensure or certification as an RN, MD or DO in the state you are applying for work or in a reciprocal state.
• Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a health care environment.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff including administering medications or treatments as permitted.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donor suitability.
• Collaborate with Center Medical Director to address donor medical questions.
• Review test results to determine continued donor suitability and assess presenting symptoms.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results and refer to community facilities for follow-up.
• Provide routine care following SOPs and escalate critical medical situations to Center Physician or local providers as required.
