Job summary

CSL is seeking a medically skilled professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures at our center. Under supervision, you will interview donors, review medical histories, and determine eligibility to donate plasma, escalating complex cases to the Center Physician.

You will provide limited emergency medical care, administer treatments as licensed, and interpret test results to assess ongoing suitability. The role requires strong clinical judgment and adherence to SOPs.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also currently be licensed as a physician or state certification as an EMT.
• For NY: current state licensure or certification as an RN, MD or DO in the state you are applying for work or in a reciprocal state.
• Minimum of one year relevant experience in a health care environment.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff per licensure.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews for eligibility.
• Consult with the Center Medical Director on donor suitability questions.
• Review test results and assess ongoing donor suitability.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results and refer for follow-up.
• Provide routine care following SOPs; escalate critical cases to physicians as required.
