Job summary

CSL is seeking a qualified healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures, interview donors, and perform medical history reviews to determine eligibility to donate plasma.

Under general supervision, you will provide limited emergency medical care, review test results, and counsel donors on reactive results. Escalation of critical cases to the Center Physician will be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year relevant experience in a health care environment.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to make and analyze physical assessments of heart, lungs and signs of drug use.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff in accordance with licensure.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donor eligibility.
• In conjunction with the Center Medical Director, respond to medically related questions and provide information on donor suitability.
• Review test results and determine continued donor suitability; assess donor symptoms that may prevent donation.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results; refer donors for follow-up and counseling.
• Provide routine care following SOPs; escalate critical medical situations to Center Physician or local medical service providers as required.
