Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.

• Ability to stand for 6 to 8 hours per day.
• Ability to bend and twist neck and waist for 1-2 hours per day.
• Frequent hand movement and ability to make fast, simple movements of fingers, hands, and wrists.
• Ability to make precise coordinated finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects.
• Frequent foot movement; ability to walk up to 6-8 hours per day.
• Ability to lift 15 lbs., with a maximum lift of 50 lbs.
• Ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to listen to and understand spoken information.
• Ability to relate sensitive information to diverse groups.
• Hearing acuity essential.
• Correctable near and far vision; specified visual acuity requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in determining donor suitability.
• Establish rapport with donors to ensure customer happiness while maintaining donor confidentiality.
• Respond to and assist with donor reactions.
• Monitor donors and equipment to ensure donor health and product quality.
• Set up, disconnect, and operate automated plasmapheresis machines.
• Disconnect and dispose of contaminated disposable equipment.
• Work in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids, infectious organisms, electrical equipment, and extreme cold in the plasma freezer.
• Use required personal protective equipment, including protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold gear.
