Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking a qualified healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures, provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff, and interview donors to obtain essential medical history.

Candidates must graduate from paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school, or naturopathic training, hold CPR certification, and have at least one year of healthcare experience; experience in plasma centers is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also currently be licensed as a physician or state certification as an emergency medical technician
• For NY: current state licensure or certification as an RN, MD or DO in the state you are applying for work or in a reciprocal state
• Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a health care environment
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred
• CPR Certification Required

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures under supervision.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff including administering medication or treatments per licensure.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donation suitability.
• In conjunction with Center Medical Director, respond to medically related questions and provide information on donor suitability.
• Review test results and determine continued donor suitability; assess donor symptoms that may affect donation ability.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive tests; refer donors to community facilities for follow-up and counseling.
