Job summary

Candidates should have a high school diploma and 6 months or more of phlebotomy experience; CSL training may be provided. This position involves working in a fast-paced center with safety as a priority.

Qualifications

• External candidates must have a minimum of 6 months' experience as a phlebotomist; one year preferred.
• Internal CSL Employees must have successfully completed the CSL Plasma DST training.
• Minimum twelve (12) months of experience in a medical or health care environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• In compliance with SOPs, performs all aspects of the pheresis procedure and plasma collection, including donor set-up, donor monitoring and donor disconnect.
• Performs venipuncture on donors to begin pheresis process in compliance with SOPs and FDA guidelines.
• Evaluates vein performance of the donor to identify problems; speeds donation time while ensuring safety and product quality.
• Monitors donor flow on the donor floor to ensure continuous turnover and communicates issues to supervision.
• Collects arm samples or whole blood samples from donors for testing and records donor data accurately in the system.
