Job summary

CSL Plasma in Rapid City, SD seeks a qualified professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis, administer approved immunizations, and provide limited emergency care to donors and staff. You will conduct confidential donor interviews, respond to medical questions with the Center Medical Director, and maintain accurate donor records.

Qualified candidates have active licensure in paramedics, nursing, PA, or related medical fields, with 1+ year healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• Active state licensure from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, naturopathic training program or medical school.
• Foreign medical school graduate licensed as physician or EMT where applicable.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a health care environment or clinical experience from a vocational or nursing program.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to perform and analyze physical assessments (heart/lung sounds, signs of drug use).
• Ability to instruct donors, staff and community about plasma donation benefits.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures and administer approved immunizations as needed.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff per SOPs; escalate to Center Physician as required.
• Promote positive donor relations and conduct confidential donor interviews to obtain suitability information.
• Respond to medically related questions with the Center Medical Director and educate staff on medical issues.
• Review donor test results and determine continued donor suitability; manage four-month test approvals and grace periods.
• Maintain confidentiality of donor and center information; record data in the electronic system.
• May be cross-trained to other areas; bilingual skills may be required.
