Qualifications

• Active state licensure from a paramedic, nursing, PA, chiropractic, naturopathic program or medical school.
• Foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical degree and current physician license or EMT certification.
• Minimum one year in healthcare or clinical exposure from training programs.
• Experience in a plasma/whole blood center or regulated setting preferred.
• Ability to perform physical assessments and document donor health.
• Ability to educate donors and staff about plasma donation benefits.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Administer immunizations and provide emergency medical care as needed.
• Promote positive donor relations and conduct donor interviews.
• Respond to medically related questions with center physicians.
• Review donor history and lab results to determine ongoing suitability.
• Counsel donors on reactive test results and refer for follow-up.
• Explain informed consent and immunization details to donors.
• Maintain donor data in the electronic donor information system.
• Ensure safety procedures and SOPs are followed; confidentiality maintained.
