Job summary

The role includes interviewing donors, conducting medical history reviews, assessing donor symptoms, and advising on test results. Collaboration with the Center Medical Director is essential to ensure donor safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• For NY: current state licensure or certification as RN, MD or DO or reciprocal state.
• Minimum of one year relevant experience in healthcare.
• Experience in plasma or blood collection center preferred.
• Ability to perform physical assessment of heart and lung sounds and related signs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff.
• Interview donors and review medical history for donation suitability.
• Respond to medically related questions with Center Medical Director.
• Review test results and determine continued donor suitability; assess symptoms.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive tests; refer for follow-up as needed.
• Provide routine care following SOPs; escalate critical situations to physicians.
