Job summary

CSL Plasma in Augusta, GA seeks qualified healthcare professionals to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures and provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff. You will interview donors, review medical history, and determine donor suitability to donate plasma.

In collaboration with the Center Medical Director, you will address medical questions, review test results, counsel on reactive results, and refer for follow-up as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also currently be licensed as a physician or state certification as an emergency medical technician.
• For NY: current state licensure or certification as an RN, MD or DO in the state you are applying for work or in a reciprocal state.
• Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a health care environment.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures under supervision.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff per licensure or certification.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine suitability to donate plasma.
• Collaborate with Center Medical Director to address donor-related medical questions.
• Review test results and determine continued donor suitability; assess donor symptoms.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results; refer donors for follow-up.
• Provide routine care following SOPs; escalate critical medical situations to Center Physician or local providers as required.
