Job summary

CSL Plasma in Georgia is seeking a medical screening professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures and provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff. Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a health care environment.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff including administering medication or treatments as permitted by licensure.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donor suitability.
• Assist Center Medical Director with medically related questions and donor information.
• Review test results and determine continued donor suitability; assess donor symptoms affecting donation.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results; refer to community facilities for follow-up.
• Provide routine care following SOPs; escalate critical medical situations to Center Physician or local medical providers as required.
