Job summary

CSL Plasma is seeking qualified medical professionals to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures and provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff. The role involves interviewing donors, conducting medical history reviews, and collaborating with the Center Medical Director on donor-related questions.

Responsibilities include reviewing test results, assessing donor symptoms, counseling donors on reactive results, and referring for follow-up when needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also currently be licensed as a physician or state certification as an emergency medical technician.
• For NY: current state licensure or certification as an RN, MD or DO in the state you are applying for work or in a reciprocal state.
• Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a health care environment.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donor suitability.
• Collaborate with Center Medical Director on donor suitability questions.
• Review test results to determine continued donor suitability; assess donor symptoms affecting donation ability.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results; refer donors for follow-up.
• Provide routine care following SOPs; escalate critical medical situations to Center Physician or local medical providers as required.
