Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations in Pittsburgh. You will determine donor eligibility, review test results, and monitor donor safety under supervision of the Center Manager and Center Physician.

This role emphasizes regulatory compliance and patient-focused care. With a background in nursing or paramedic training, you will participate in emergency response, donor testing review, and vaccinations programs

Qualifications

Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
CPR and AED certification are required.
Licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic.

Responsibilities

Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and SPE review.
Evaluate donor reaction(s) and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and standing orders; arrange donor transport when needed.
Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance.
Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees where applicable.
Manage employee incidents and follow EHS guidance.
