Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Webster, TX is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, review test results, manage donor adverse events, and coordinate with the Center Physician under supervision of the Center Manager.

Two years in a clinical setting and active RN/NP/PA licensure are required, along with CPR/AED certification.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN, NP or PA in the state of responsibility.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; nursing program certificate.
• Ability to determine donor eligibility and review donor medical history.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and manage medical emergencies with standing orders and donor transport to care facilities.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine if further occupational health evaluation is required; refer to EHS guidance.
