Job summary
BioLife Plasma Services Oklahoma City is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, conduct medical history interviews, perform physical assessments, review lab results, and respond to donor health concerns under physician supervision.
The role requires an EMT-Paramedic license, CPR/AED certification, and clinical experience.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; nursing program credit is acceptable
- Licensed/certified EMT-Paramedic in the state of duties
- Current CPR and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
- Complete FDA-approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
Responsibilities
- Determine donor eligibility including informed consent and confidentiality
- Manage donor adverse events and transport to care as needed
- Review SPE and other lab results for donor suitability
- Notify donors of unsuitable test results under Center Physician guidance
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for staff
- Assist with EHS-related incident reporting and investigations
- Follow SOPs for medical emergencies and donor safety
