Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) in Oklahoma City to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor safety, review test results, and notify unsuitable outcomes.

You work under the Center Manager and Center Physician, ensuring regulatory compliance and center efficiency. You will assist with donor adverse events, participate in vaccination programs, and coordinate with EHS for safety investigations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Current EMT-Paramedic license or certification as required by the state.
• CPR and AED certification up to date.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy where applicable.
• FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training completion.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs; coordinate with Center Physician for guidance.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for any unacceptable findings or medical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for occupational health/ER follow-up; follow EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support related investigations.
