BioLife Plasma Services is actively seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) in Indiana. You will support plasma center operations by determining donor eligibility, managing adverse events, reviewing lab results, and coordinating with the Center Physician for medical issues.

You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician guidance, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and providing environmental, health and safety support as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; graduate of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN.
• Current Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy.
• Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsabilités

• Determine donor eligibility; manage informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing SPE.
• Evaluate donor reactions at the facility per SOPs; follow SOPs for medical emergencies including Center Physician standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues including donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
