Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations in Aurora, CO. You will determine donor eligibility, manage adverse events, review test results, and notify donors of unsuitable results.

You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and center SOPs, with vaccination program support and EHS guidance as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state: LPN or LVN.
• CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Satisfactorily complete FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs; refer to Center Physician as needed.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/ER as required.
• May serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS.
