Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Tulsa is hiring a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse). You will determine donor eligibility, perform physical exams, review test results, and manage donor safety under the Center Manager and Center Physician.

This role supports plasma center operations in a fast-paced environment. We expect nursing credentials (LPN/LVN), CPR/AED, and at least two years in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent to include graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN
• CPR and AED certification
• Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
• Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility; to include, informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing SPE
• Evaluate donor reaction(s) per SOPs; manage medical emergencies including standing orders and donor transport to care facilities
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical/technical issues
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for evaluation by occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance
