Qualifikationen

• Active state licensure in paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, naturopathic training program or medical school required.
• Minimum of one year experience in a health care environment or clinical experience from a vocational or nursing program.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or similar regulated setting preferred.
• Ability to perform physical assessment of heart and lung sounds and detect other health issues.
• Bilingual skills may be required to meet business needs.

Aufgaben

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Administer immunizations other than red blood cell immunizations and supervise as needed.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff per SOPs.
• Promote positive customer relations with all donors and interview donors to gather suitability information.
• Respond to medically related questions with the Center Medical Director/Physician.
• Review donor screening results to determine ongoing donor suitability.
• Explain informed consent, procedures, hazards, and immunization schedules to donors.
• Maintain confidentiality of donor and center information.
• Maintain and audit emergency kits and supplies.
