Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services seeks a Medical Support Specialist to determine donor eligibility, manage adverse events, review test results, and notify donors of unsuitable findings. You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician, with expectations to uphold regulatory standards and environmental health and safety guidelines.

Required qualifications include Advanced EMT-A and Paramedic EMT-P licensure, CPR/AED, and clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold Advanced EMT-A and Paramedic EMT-P licensure in the applicable state.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent including nursing program graduate.
• FDA-approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training completed.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history, and screening procedures.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for concerning findings or guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS as needed.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
