Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Thornton, CO is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations, determine donor eligibility, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable results under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician.

The role requires licensed healthcare professionals (EMT-B/A/I/P or LPN/LVN or RN), CPR/AED certification, basic IV therapy, and FDA training, with at least two years of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including nursing program with state requirements.
• Licensed/certified EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P or LPN/LVN or RN in the responsible state.
• CPR and AED certification current.
• Meet state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA-approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history, physical exam, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and coordinate emergency care as needed.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical guidance.
• Support employee Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents per EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
