Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in the United States (WA, Bellingham) seeks a Medical Support Specialist to help run plasma center operations and ensure donor safety. This role evaluates eligibility, manages adverse events, reviews lab results, and communicates with the Center Physician and Medical Affairs.

Ideal candidates hold a state nursing license or EMT certification, CPR/AED, and have at least two years in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent incl. nursing program and state requirements.
• Current EMT/paramedic or nursing licensure in the assigned state.
• CPR and AED certification on file.
• LPN/LVN or RN licensure in state of responsibility.
• Complete FDA training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion and medical history interview.
• Perform physical exams and blood testing and review SPE results.
• Assess donor reactions and follow SOPs for emergencies and donor safety.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical issues or guidance.
• Support vaccination programs and occupational health processes; manage incidents as needed.

High school diploma or equivalent including nursing program (state licensing requirements)

EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P license

LPN/LVN license

RN license

CPR and AED certification
