Job summary

CSL Plasma in Texas is seeking a Donor Suitability Specialist to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures under general supervision. You will provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff, including administering medications or treatments as licensed.

You will interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine eligibility, and, with the Center Medical Director, respond to medically related questions and provide information on donor suitability.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year in a health care environment.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center preferred.
• Ability to assess heart and lung sounds and signs of drug use.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews.
• Respond to donor questions with information on donor suitability.
• Review test results and determine continued donor suitability.
• Escalate critical medical situations to the Center Physician as required.
