Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to assist plasma center operations in Missoula, MT. You will determine donor eligibility and review test results to ensure safety and compliance.

You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician, applying regulatory knowledge and SOPs to manage donor care and adverse events. A strong clinical background is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus nursing program credentialing as required by state.
• Licensed or certified in the state of responsibility: EMT-B/A/I/P, LPN/LVN, or RN; CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility incl. consent, disclosure, medical history, physical exam, tests and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions following SOPs; arrange emergency care per standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical/technical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS.
