Job summary

General Shale Brick, a leading brand of General Shale, Inc., is seeking a Utility Person to join our Stanton, Kentucky manufacturing facility. This hands-on role thrives in a fast-paced environment and emphasizes safety and teamwork.

The Utility Person performs housekeeping, assists with equipment upkeep, and supports daily plant operations while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe plant environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior brick manufacturing or industrial experience preferred.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout all plant departments, including Grinding and general production areas.
• Remove scrap from belts, empty bins, and clean dust collectors in the Making Department.
• Assist kiln car operators with repair and rebuild tasks as needed.
• Support snow and ice removal at plant entrances and exits.
• Actively assist other crew members and work collaboratively with operators.
• Report maintenance needs to Production Supervisor or Lead Hand.
• Perform preventative maintenance on mobile equipment, including cleaning and washing.
• Follow all safety protocols and work efficiently according to company policies.
