Job summary

Spartech, LLC’s Goodyear, AZ facility is seeking a Plant Training Coordinator to lead training, development, and retention for hourly production teams. You will craft annual learning plans, partner with the Sr.

HR Manager and Plant Leadership to address training gaps, and drive a One Spartech culture focused on safety and quality. You will build a comprehensive training program, onboard new hires, and advance operator career progression while collaborating with EH&S and Quality teams to ensure

Qualifications

• 3-5 years management experience with direct reports.
• Open to continuing education as deemed by senior leadership.
• Required manufacturing experience, plastics industry preferred.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Clear communication, both verbal and written.
• Ability to coach and develop others into higher performance.

Responsibilities

• Own the formalization of new hire training and annual plant training plans.
• Develop a written training program with coursework per position and certification evaluations.
• Train all new incoming production talent.
• Manage onboarding programs, floor trainers, and new hire orientation.
• Improve development and retention programs; promote career progression for Operators.
• Collaborate with EH&S, Quality, and Plant Leadership on topics like new product training.
• Share in L2L administration and promote a One Spartech culture.

The Plant Training Coordinator is responsible for training, development, and retention for new manufacturing hires entering the Company and continuing education of hourly production associates. The Plant Training Coordinator will develop and implement annual learning plans for ongoing training needs, and work with the Sr. HR Manager and Plant Leadership Team to identify specific training gaps. Training and development directly impact retention of team members at the facility, therefore the Plant Training Coordinator must be innovative and creative in the role for process improvement and be a representative of the One Spartech culture.

Requirements

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Ownership of all formalization of new hire training. Create annual plant training, working with Sr. HR Manager and Plant Leadership Team to find a solution to training needs without adverse impact to operations.
• Develop a written training program that includes:
  • Individual coursework per position and operator class
  • Quantified Evaluations for certification of each position
  • Sustainment training for all positions
• Train all new incoming production talent.
• Manage new hire orientation and floor trainers, including all onboarding programs.
• Improve current development and retention programs. Continued talent development of existing talent.
• Develop a career progression path for Operators through the classifications.
• Safety, Efficiency/Proficiency, Quality
• Work with the Plant EH&S Manager.
  • Work with the Quality Manager and quality team.
  • Work closely with the Sr. HR Manager and Plant Leadership Team to establish special training topics such as:
    • New Product/New Equipment training
    • Special / Non-Standard product training
• Share in L2L administration duties.
  • Must understand and have a “One Spartech” mindset to positively enhance the company culture.
  • Must Understand and communicate our culture of respectful communication in everything we do.
• Develop and promote positive working relationships with all Team Members, Supervisors & Management.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• 3-5 years management experience with direct reports.
