Job summary

Alabama Power's Maintenance Specialist/System Owner at Plant Barry oversees the health of Balance of Plant systems L, M, H, S, and P for Units 6 & 7, directing maintenance strategy, outage planning and budget ownership.

The role requires 5+ years in power generation or industrial maintenance, strong knowledge of pumps, motors, valves, breakers and Maximo, plus the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.

Qualifications

• 5+ years Power Plant Generation or equivalent maintenance/operations experience.
• Experience coordinating large projects.
• Knowledge of pumps, motors, valves, breakers, and similar mechanical/electrical equipment.
• Familiarity with a Work Order Management System (Maximo or equivalent).
• Proficiency with personal computers and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Monitor routine operation of plant equipment and derive work scopes and action plans.
• Coordinate maintenance crews and/or contractors for service and repair work.
• Ensure compliance with safety, OSHA, and environmental regulations and contract specs.
• Make technical decisions on system repairs and utilize internal/external resources as needed.
• Build relationships with vendors and contractors; communicate status and needs to management.
