Southern Company is seeking an Electrical Field Services Engineer at Plant Barry, AL, within the Alabama Technical Shared Services group. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
- Broad knowledge of power plant systems.
- Proficiency in excitation system calibration and problem resolution.
- Proficiency in switchgear concepts and designs.
- Knowledge of protective relaying philosophy.
- Ability to communicate with plant employees at all levels.
Responsibilities
- Maintain technical proficiency in electrical systems and field support.
- Cultivate relationships within the plant and sites served.
- Solve technical problems in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Serve as a role model technically and in customer interactions.
- Be aware of financial impact of Technical Services' support.
- Mentor and develop new employees.
