Job summary

Alabama Power is seeking a Plant Engineer to support plant operations, maintenance, and capital projects by applying engineering principles to improve reliability, efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance.

The role provides technical expertise for plant systems, develops evaluations and project scopes, and manages projects from conception to completion, coordinating budgeting, scheduling, and contractor oversight to ensure safe, efficient, and on-budget execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university is required.
• A minimum of three years of power plant or industrial engineering experience is preferred.
• A minimum of one year of project management or project engineering experience is preferred.
• Experience developing project scopes, estimates, schedules, and contractor work packages is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering evaluations, recommendations, and project scopes to support maintenance and capital improvements.
• Coordinate and manage assigned projects from conception through completion, including budgeting, scheduling, contractor oversight, procurement support, and project documentation.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, contractors, vendors, and corporate support groups to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and within budget.
