Job summary

Zoox is seeking a Plant Supplier Quality Engineer to protect the assembly line and ensure incoming supplier-provided components meet quality at the point of use. You will contain issues, drive cross-functional corrective actions, and own disposition of non-conforming materials on the Zoox assembly plant.

The role requires a mechanical/industrial engineering background, 6+ years in plant or supplier quality in high-volume manufacturing, expertise in problem solving (8D, Six Sigma), GD&T, and

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
• Minimum 6+ years of experience in a Plant Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or Supplier Quality role in high-volume manufacturing.
• Experience in a production plant environment with assembly line operations.
• Expertise in problem-solving methodologies (8D, Six-Sigma, Fish Bone, 5 Whys, statistics).
• Knowledge of GD&T and quality tools (SPC, MSA, FMEA, control plans).
• Familiarity with APQP/PPAP and MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Act as first responder to supplier material quality issues on the line; implement containment and disposition non-conforming materials.
• Lead corrective actions for in-plant supplier quality issues with cross-functional partners.
• Assess impact of part quality issues on assembly processes and update work instructions as needed.
• Analyze in-plant supplier quality metrics and report trends to leadership.
• Identify systemic quality risks and collaborate with the SQE team.
