Southern Company is seeking a Plant Engineer for Plant Miller to support operations, maintenance, and capital projects using engineering principles to improve reliability, efficiency, and safety. The engineer will manage projects from conception through completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and contractor oversight, collaborating with operations, maintenance, vendors, and corporate support groups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university is required.
• Minimum of three years of power plant or industrial engineering experience is preferred.
• Minimum of one year of project management or project engineering experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support plant operations, maintenance, and capital project execution by applying engineering principles to improve reliability, efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Coordinate and manage projects from conception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, contractor oversight, procurement support, and documentation.
• Work with operations, maintenance, contractors, vendors, and corporate teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and within budget.
