Job summary

Alabama Power is seeking a Plant Engineer to support operations, maintenance, and capital projects by applying engineering principles to improve reliability, efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance. You will provide technical expertise for plant systems, develop evaluations and project scopes, and coordinate projects from conception through completion, including budgeting and scheduling.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Minimum of three years of power plant or industrial engineering experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of project management or project engineering experience is preferred.
  • Experience developing project scopes, estimates, schedules, and contractor work packages is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage projects from conception to completion, including budgeting and scheduling.
  • Oversee contractors and provide procurement support and project documentation.
  • Apply engineering principles to improve plant reliability, efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Support maintenance and capital improvements and assist troubleshooting efforts.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, vendors, and corporate support groups.
