Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Plant Quality Engineer to support the Grantley Plant in York, PA, focusing on welding, fabrication and assembly processes. The role emphasizes improving first pass yield, throughput and on-time delivery while supporting the federal systems business.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and 2+ years of manufacturing experience, with Lean/6-Sigma training and strong problem-solving abilities. This is a full-time on-site role at the Grantley Plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2+ years in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of welding NDT inspection methods (MT/PT/VT/UT) a plus.
• QMS knowledge with ISO 9000/TS 16949/AS 9100 a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office and quality data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab).
• Strong problem solving, data analysis, GD&T and blueprint reading.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to the Grantley Plant.
• Leads and participates on CI teams to reduce COPQ and improve yield.
• Supports COPQ metrics and reports scrap, rework, and yield.
• Supports management and disposition of non-conforming material.
• Participates in the Material Review Board.
• Develops inspection plans and performs first article reviews.
