Job summary

Johnson Controls Navy Systems is seeking a Sr. Production Supervisor for the 2nd shift at our York, PA Grantley plant. You will lead welding and fabrication trades, drive safety, quality, cost and delivery, and coordinate across shifts for up to 30 employees.

You will foster a team-first culture, remove barriers, and guide continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with NAVSEA welding standards and ISO quality systems. Shift differential applies; benefits begin on day one.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership guiding unionized teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication, emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in heavy manufacturing; welding knowledge is a plus.
• Familiarity with NAVSEA welding standards and ISO quality systems.
• Experience in a union environment and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships to drive productivity and best practices.
• Remove barriers, resolve conflicts, promote a collaborative environment.
• Coordinate daily/weekly production plans across shifts.
• Support standard work, improve quality and reduce errors.
• Monitor non-conformances and strengthen fabrication processes.
• Ensure 6S/housekeeping and safety procedures are followed.
• Schedule backlog review and prioritize at-risk orders with production control.
• Provide training for new hires and maintain training records.
• Enforce plant rules and address conflicts as needed.
• Verify unit readiness and required documentation before inspection.
• Assess staffing needs and participate in hiring and development.
• Ensure on-time starts and maintain labor/attendance records.
