Job summary

Pretium Packaging is seeking a Plant Quality Engineer for our Salt Lake City, UT site. This hands-on role focuses on solving manufacturing challenges at the source, strengthening process capability, and delivering packaging that meets customer expectations.

You will lead root cause investigations, implement CAPA, and improve measurement systems while partnering with Operations, Process Engineering, Maintenance, and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Plastics, or related engineering discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead structured investigations into customer complaints, nonconformances, recurring defects, process failures, and adverse trends.
• Develop and implement SPC strategies for critical product and process characteristics.
• Plan and execute measurement system studies (Gauge R&R, bias, linearity, stability, etc.).
• Lead or support Process FMEA and risk assessments; translate outputs into control plans and validation activities.
• Support IQ/OQ/PQ protocols for materials, tooling, and machines; document results and approve validated settings.
• Drive improvements to reduce scrap, rework, and cost of poor quality; sustain via standard work and training.
• Maintain strong plant-floor presence and cross-functional collaboration to ensure ongoing quality performance.
