Job summary

Pretium Packaging, L.L.C. in Peru, Illinois is seeking an onsite Quality Control Manager to lead all quality activities in a fast-paced plastics manufacturing plant.

You will oversee incoming materials, in-process inspections, and finished goods, while guiding a multi-shift team on the production floor. This role requires 5+ years in quality leadership, hands-on presence, strong problem solving, and a data-driven mindset.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of quality leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to lead and develop teams across multiple shifts.
• Strong understanding of quality systems, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement tools (Lean, Six Sigma).
• Experience collaborating with plant leadership and influencing decisions.
• Hands-on presence on the production floor and strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to navigate challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Lead all quality activities within the plant, including incoming materials, in-process inspections, and finished goods.
• Build, develop, and lead a team of quality technicians and inspectors across multiple shifts.
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to identify and resolve quality issues in real time.
• Drive root cause analysis and implement CAPA.
• Monitor and improve key quality metrics (scrap, defects, customer complaints, first-pass yield).
• Ensure compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Support and lead customer audits and quality system certifications.
• Establish and maintain standard work, inspection processes, and documentation.
• Act as the escalation point for quality concerns, including the authority to stop production when necessary.
