The Project Manager plans, directs, and coordinates project activities to ensure objectives are achieved in accordance with established priorities, timelines, and budget requirements.
Essential Job Functions
- Define project scope and objectives.
- Prepare specifications, bid requests, cost estimates, and contracts for projects.
- Develop detailed project schedules and implementation cost estimates.
- Track and manage project costs to ensure adherence to budget.
- Recommend make-or-buy decisions.
- Provide technical guidance and oversee maintenance and subcontractor activities; assist in problem resolution as needed.
- Direct and coordinate project activities through delegated team members or outside contractors, ensuring minimal production or operational disruptions.
- Request personnel assignments and coordinate schedules and activities with department managers.
- Oversee planning of equipment layout, installation, modifications, and contractor/maintenance activities.
- Analyze existing mechanical systems to troubleshoot issues, improve operating efficiencies (reduce operating and maintenance costs), and enhance system reliability.
- Provide technical direction to Supply Chain during negotiations for goods and services required to complete projects.
- Deliver consistent project updates to stakeholders regarding strategy, progress, risks, and adjustments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline required.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a Plant Engineering or Facilities Engineering environment required.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and cleanroom operations.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Project.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
