Job summary

X-energy LLC in Rockville, MD is seeking a Plant & Process System Manager to lead engineers designing plant layouts, piping, and system processes throughout the project life cycle.

The role requires a mechanical or systems engineering background with about ten years of experience and knowledge of ASME codes; you will oversee design cycles, mentor staff, and collaborate with business development to promote X-energy technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or systems engineering from an accredited university.
• Typically ten years of engineering experience.
• Specialized knowledge in system requirements, physical architecture, integrated design, data management, and technical risk management.
• Experience leading design engineers and large EPC/EP projects.
• Knowledge of ASME piping and pressure vessel codes (B31.1, BPVC).

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the design and development of plant mechanical systems.
• Oversee design cycles and resolve 3D clashes using software and best practices.
• Coordinate engineering resources across projects to ensure on-time delivery and quality.
• Support business development with technical resources and client engagement.
• Ensure work follows design control procedures and maintains thorough documentation.
